When I loaded them into my home computer (iMac with Photos) the did not interleave in chronological order. They stayed in groups by camera. I tried clicking on and off the organize by date button but no difference. Any suggestions as to how I can get them all in chronological order? Jon Jensen/quote I used such a program years ago that put digital images from 3 different wedding cameras in chronological order to the second. It does, or at least did exist.

An internet search may give you the name. Since you use a MAC I really cannot offer any advice. Does it have the equivalent of Windows' 'explorer?' If so, open that in the folder where you put the pictures and view them as a detailed list. Then you should be able to sort them by date/time by clicking on the header of that column. Or, if you use LR, you can sort them there. However, that won't really sort them on the computer, just in the LR program.

And yes, do think about syncing the times on your various cameras. If not, even if you sort them according to their recorded dates and times, they won't be in sequence. I found this out the hard way when I went to Turkey last year. But that also caused me to find the time editing function in LR! I tried clicking on and off the organize by date button but no difference. Any suggestions as to how I can get them all in chronological order? Jon Jensen I often use two cameras. All I need to do is to organize my photos by the time listed in the data. Only two times has this not worked properly.

I camera changes standard time to savings time automatically and I forgot to change the time on the other so they were one hour off. Capture One Pro is my choice for post editing and it lets me set up an automatic time organizer with multiple cameras with one click.

Jon Jensen The mac sorts by several different ways. And stays that way until you change the sort order. Here is a link to show you how to do it. I came back from a trip with 1700 images taken with three cameras (Canon M5, Canon SX700HS and iPhone 6S). All of them record time/date with images.

Jon Jensen I use Lightroom to avoid these issues - I will often use multiple cameras on a trip or a job, sometimes with multiple shooters - LR will resolve all of these time issues as long as the camera's clocks are synchronized. There are other programs that can do this, as well as renaming images on import to the computer where you can use the time and date stamp in the metadata as part of the filename. I have found Photos and iPhotos to be awkward for this.
